Navia & Christopher’s Story
These two love spending their Sunday mornings at their favorite coffee shop in the city. So they wanted to do just that for their engagement photos! The gloomy, rainy weather on this day really set a mood.
I start by telling them to head into the shop and do what they normally would. They chat while waiting for their drinks, look at the City Weekly newspaper and watch people walk down the streets.
These two lovebirds could fully be themselves because they were already in an environment that they feel comfortable in. And being in their natural environment took the pressure off from having a camera on them. After giving them about 20-30 minutes to do their own thing inside while I grab some candids and document the little moments happening, we head outside the shop.
The rain has slowed down so we walk up and down the street, exploring the area a bit. I use light prompting to give these guys direction, but leave plenty of room for moments to happen naturally.
These two explained their engagement session as a “fun experience.” After receiving the photos, they couldn’t stop talking about how obsessed they were. I’m obsessed with their photos too!! I love the moody black & white vintage lovers feel the photos have.
