Mountain Adventure to Kick Off Their Utah Wedding Weekend

An adventure session prior to your wedding day is a great way to get comfortable on camera and have some fun! I took Danielle and Dylan to the most gorgeous area in Little Cottonwood Canyon when they arrived in Utah for their mountain engagement session. We spent the evening exploring a couple little trails in the area and ended the night watching the sun set over the jagged mountain peaks.

Private Dinner & Welcome Party

This was a destination wedding weekend for these two, so it was very important to them to welcome their loved ones to Utah. Danielle and Dylan got this beautiful Airbnb where they stayed for the weekend and hosted their welcome party. It is spacious and has a large backyard with a pool and hot tub.

Their family shared stories from their relationship and reminisced on loved ones over an intimate dinner made by a local private chef. After plenty of toasts, Kenny Fong and Scott Seibert, a saxophone and keyword duo started playing as friends started to arrive. Everyone spent the evening mingling over drinks, munching on the charcuterie table, and dancing as the sun went down.

Classy Wedding Details

The next morning, Danielle and Dylan got ready for their mountain wedding day with their family at the Airbnb. The two are dressed in Anthropologie, Brooks Brothers, and a beautiful feathered bowtie made by Brackish. With hair and makeup done by Stephanie and Marisa.

Danielle wanted a special first look moment with her dad, where she gave him a photo of them from her childhood to put on the back of his tie.

Small Mountain Wedding Ceremony

Now for the main adventure of the day! We all headed up a long, bumpy road in Provo Canyon to reach the location I had scouted out for their mountain wedding ceremony. Dylan and his groomsmen had come up earlier in the day to set up the chairs. But you can hire Mountain Event Rentals to do this part for you!

As we arrive at the short trailhead that leads to the ceremony spot, a light rainstorm begins. A very real risk of a fall mountain wedding in Utah. Though, we came prepared for this with umbrellas, and luckily the storm passed within 10 minutes! We spent a couple hours enjoying the mountains and taking photos with family and friends before heading to dinner.

Intimate Wedding Reception After Their Mountain Wedding Day

The couple and their loved ones headed to The Continental in Provo after the wedding; a classy restaurant that has unfortunately closed since their wedding.

However, here are a couple other great options for a reception after your mountain wedding:

This was a fun and relaxed evening, with a couple wedding traditions the two still wanted to incorporate; like toasts during dinner, dancing with their parents, and cutting this lovely cake made by Bucko Bakery.
