Epic Elopement in Brookings, Oregon | Oregon Coast Elopement Photographer
The Oregon coast is the perfect place to elope because of its variety of beautiful scenery. Within a 10-20 minute drive you can get moody coastal photos or submerge yourself in immense forests and redwood trees. Morgan and Matt chose Samuel H. Boardman State Park for their elopement destination. This park sits at the south edge of the Oregon Coast in Brookings, Oregon. Continue reading for the whole story!
Meet Morgan & Matt
Morgan and Matt started their adventure in the early morning shortly after sunrise in hopes of beating the crowds. We started in Samuel H. Boardman where we hiked the Natural Bridges Trail for a fun adventure and to get some epic photos. (Unfortunately this trail is permanently closed due to safety reasons. But there are plenty of other beautiful spots in this park to elope!)
This wasn’t the easiest or cleanest trail so they changed into their wedding attire once we got down to the bottom of the trail.
*ELOPEMENT TIP: Choose a sunrise ceremony to increase your chances of having a location completely to yourself. Eloping on a weekday will also increase your chance of privacy. Even though this is a popular trail, we had it all to ourselves on this early Thursday morning!
We headed to a nearby beach in the state park for Morgan and Matt to read their vows and take some photos on the sand. The wind was insane and the ocean was cold.. which is to be expected on the Oregon coast. We took advantage of shooting with the giant rocks to block the wind and didn’t stick around for too long, but it made for some dramatic photos!
