Meet The Photographer! | Bri Parkin Photography

Hey Guys, it’s Bri – the girl behind the camera!

I thought it was about time I introduce myself on the blog. I’m Bri, the owner/photographer of Bri Parkin Photography.

How I  Got Started With Photography

I am 22 years old and currently live in Salt Lake City, UT. I started photography 7 years ago when I was a sophomore in high school. Although, for as long as I can remember I’ve had a camera. Growing up, I always had little point and shoot cameras throughout elementary school and jr. high. When I got to high school, I took a photography class and we were supposed to have our own cameras. My last point and shoot had broken, so I asked my parents if they would lend me money to buy a DSLR off ksl. My first camera was a Nikon D5000 and was $220. I remember being SO happy, I was obsessed with my new camera and I wanted to take pictures 24/7.

I quickly fell in love with photography and started teaching myself more and practicing in all my free time. I joined student government as Historian, so I got to do all the photos for school events, sports, dances, etc. A few months later, people started asking me to take their photos, so I started a business. The first 2 years were chill and I mainly did it for fun when I had time on the side. Once I moved to Southern Utah for college, I decided to get serious with photography and started shooting weddings… which is how we ended up here!

Now I have niched down and document elopements and intimate weddings in the PNW, Utah, and select international destinations!

My Other Roles

On top of this, I graduated from Southern Utah University in 2021. I studied digital marketing and social media to learn the business side of having a creative brand.

But let’s not forget the most important role… I am a dog mom to my sweet Luna!  I got Luna in July of 2020. She is a mini Australian shepherd and the sweetest girl. We love to go on walks around the neighborhood, road trips, and adventures.

Some Fun Facts

When I’m not taking photos, editing, or with my dog you’ll probably find me traveling, camping, at the gym, or listening to music. I love my job because it gives me the ability to combine many of the things I love together and use my talents to help others remember their special days. You can follow along with Luna and I on our personal travels here.
