Are you wanting to elope but aren’t sure where to do it?
Elopements and destination weddings are an awesome option for couples that don’t want a traditional wedding. The best part about elopements is that they can be whatever YOU want. You can have as many or as few people there as you want, and the best part… you can elope almost ANYWHERE!
There are so many beautiful places to elope, it’s hard to pick just a few! I’ve brought together some of our favorite spots and created a top 10 list for you, in no particular order.
1. Horseshoe Bend – Page, AZ
Horseshoe Bend is a bend in the Colorado river in the small town Page, Arizona. It is about a 3/4 mile hike to the bend itself where you can walk right up to the edge!
2. Joshua Tree National Park, CA
Joshua Tree National Park has many locations inside the park you can elope at. Like most National Parks, you do have to get a permit but it is likely much cheaper than a venue! Joshua Tree is beautiful all year round, but it can get a bit chilly in the winter and is scorching hot in the summer!
3. Kauai, HI
Kauai offers many beautiful spots to elope in. Pictured below is the North Shore and Waimea Canyon. Kauai is covered in a tropical rainforest and has the 10 mile long Waimea Canyon! Whether you’re wanting a beach elopement or a tropical mountaintop elopement, Kauai has it all!
4. Redwood National Park, CA
The Redwoods are home to some of the tallest trees on earth, with trunks 10 times bigger than us! The Redwoods can often be foggy giving a dark, mysterious and steamy vibe!
5. Sparks Lake – Bend, OR
Sparks Lake is for those of you that love hiking and adventures! Sparks Lake is a 19.5 mile moderately trafficked out and back trail near Bend, Oregon. If you’re up for the hike it is an insanely beautiful spot!!
6. Zion National Park, UT
Zion National Park is located in Southern Utah and is one of the most visited National Parks in the world! It is one of my personal favorites and has many different spots you can shoot at, the most popular being the canyon overlook pictured below. Click here for one of my favorite Zion Weddings.
7. Grand Teton National Park, WY
The Tetons are located near Jackson Hole, Wyoming. It can get bitter cold in the winter, but is great weather in the other seasons. The Tetons are beautiful in any season though if you can face the weather!
8. Big Sur, CA
Big Sur is on Pacific Coast highway 1 on the central coast of California. It is known for its big oceanside cliffs, windy turns, and the often misty coastline.
9. Dead Horse Point State Park – Moab, UT
Dead Horse Point is a state park located 45 minutes from Moab, UT. It overlooks the Colorado River and Canyonlands National Park. It has a dramatic landscape and is less expensive than getting married in a National Park.
10. Yosemite National Park, CA
Yosemite is a National Park located in central California, about and hour and a half from Fresno. It is known for its waterfalls, giant granite walls, and deep valleys. The most popular spots being Glacier point and Taft point along Glacier Road in Yosemite Valley. However, it can be fairly expensive to elope in Yosemite National Park, but likely still not as much as a venue!
