Nikki & Laurie’s wedding day at Millcreek Inn has been a long time coming. These two were in each other’s orbit for many years before they actually met each other. They lived 5 miles a part as teenagers and they each worked in restaurants that were side by side in their 20’s. This is where they met many of their best friends that were their bridesmaids at their wedding.
However, their paths didn’t actually cross until they ended up at the same bonfire through mutual friends. They started running into each other much more after the bonfire, and slowly their friendship turned into love. And 10 years later… I bring you their wedding day!
Dog-Friendly Wedding Venue? Millcreek Inn Is The Place For You!
These two have created their own little world together in Joshua Tree, CA with their three dogs – Tennessee, Wrangler, and Lita. Nikki and Laurie bond over their love and passion for rescuing dogs. They also enjoy outdoor activities, cooking vegan meals together and getting together with their friends.
Every piece of Nikki and Laurie was woven throughout their intimate wedding day at Millcreek Inn and it was certainly a memorable one! It was very important to have their dogs by their side on this special day, so they were sure to find a dog-friendly wedding venue. Their dogs hung out with them while they got ready and then walked down the aisle as part of the bridal party!
Millcreek Inn Wedding Ceremony
Right as their ceremony ended, it started pouring rain! Thankfully the rain passed in about 20 minutes… and it even brought us a rainbow! Making this the most quintessential gay wedding day!
But unfortunately, it had soaked all their tablescapes that were set up for dinner to follow. Their friends stepped in to switch out the tablecloths and settings, and re-light all the candles. It is very clear that their tight knit community of friends have their back.
Outdoor Wedding Dinner Party
In my 10 years of photographing weddings, their vegan buffet dinner was one of the best meals I’ve ever had at a wedding! I’m not sure I can even tell you what half of the food was but damn it was good! If you want good food at your wedding… the chef at Millcreek Inn is seriously one of the best in Utah! Not to mention, it’s so nice to get catering and venue all in one!
You could feel all the love and support for Nikki and Laurie in the air! They spent the night hanging out and dancing with their closest family and friends.
But the fun didn’t stop there! Since Nikki and Laurie traveled to Utah for their wedding, they made it their honeymoon as well! They spent the next couple days hanging out in Salt Lake City with their friends and then headed to Moab to hike with their dogs! Simple, adventurous, and full of everything they love the most.
